 The Greatest Showman

The Greatest Showman is a film directed by Michael Gracey and starring Hugh Jackman. Based on the true story of circus founder Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, the film was written by Michael Arndt, Jenny Bicks and Bill Condon. It won the Golden Globe for 'Best Song' for This is Me and received nominations for Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical and Best Motion Picture Comedy/Musical, as well as a nomination for Best Song at the Oscars.

P. T. Barnum, a clever and manipulative character, but quite charismatic. He is a 19th century family man who becomes unemployed after the company he works for goes bankrupt. With the help of a bank loan, and that of his wife Charity, he decides to change his life by acquiring a museum of wax figures, which was named "Barnum's Museum of Curiosities", however, his malice and cunning turn the museum into a freak show to attract the attention of more spectators eager to spend their money on the show.

The bearded lady, the tiniest man, the best trapeze artists, and the tallest man, are some of the examples that P.T. included in his show, later changing its name to "Barnum's Circus".  These unusual people, hired by Barnum, feel accepted by a certain part of the public, offering, in this way, an approach of how society can judge people by appearances and not by how they are inside.
